5 Writing Prompts for Summer

I don't know about you, but the moment the calendar flipped to June this morning I was ready for summer! We spent this past weekend hanging out with friends, grilling, and swimming- even in 65 degree weather (Michiganders are built this way). It was so much fun and definitely gave me a glimpse into the months ahead.

Even with two jobs, two kids, 1 puppy, and a few other things going on, summer to me is a time to relax and create. And in my world, that means writing!

Are you looking to do some creative writing this summer? Check out these prompts to inspire storytellers of all ages!

5 Writing Prompts for Summer

  1. I woke up this morning with my hair smelling like last night’s campfire.

  2. “Hello, everyone! Welcome to Unicorn Rangers Camp!”

  3. Today is the first day of summer vacation. And it’s snowing outside.

  4. We taped our map to the dartboard, grabbed a dart, stepped back 10 feet, and got ready to pick our first road trip destination.

  5. I emptied my piggy bank and counted $13.12. It was time to find a summer job.
